1) Full Time Telesales Operative, Barnstaple

Role: Full time, based in Barnstaple, Devon.

Philip Dennis Foodservice is a well-established family business distributing Frozen, Chilled and Ambient foods as well as Fresh Butchery and Fresh Fish to customers throughout the South West of England, Oxfordshire and the Midlands. The Telesales Team is at the heart of the organisation, open seven days a week processing our customers orders from 7.30am up until 10.00pm for next day delivery.  An opportunity has now arisen for a Full Time Telesales Operator to join our dedicated, passionate and lively team on a maternity cover basis.

We are looking for a Full Time Telesales Operative on a maternity cover basis to join our busy team.

The hours of work are 37.5 hours per week.  Candidates must be able to work 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis when required and two evenings per week.

The job involves answering inbound calls and making outbound calls, accurately processing orders, up-selling additional products and special offers and dealing with customer queries whilst consistently delivering outstanding customer service.   You will also be required to provide administrative support and work closely with Account Managers.

The Person:

The successful candidate will have an excellent telephone manner, be confident and experienced at selling, quick thinking and quick to learn in a fast paced environment. You will also have a friendly and outgoing personality and be able to work calmly under pressure.

Ideally, you will have some experience of a busy telesales environment.  Good IT skills are essential; you will need a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word, and be able to quickly and accurately learn our bespoke IT ordering system.  You will have excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English. You must be highly reliable, flexible, a good team player and demonstrate excellent customer service skills.

2) Trainee Purchaser, Ilfracombe

Role: Full time, based in Mullacott, Devon.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to progress their career within a local family business that is continually growing and expanding.

For the right person, we will offer a structured, ongoing training programme to assist them in becoming a Purchaser within Philip Dennis’s Foodservice division. The position will enable that person to eventually take full responsibility of the purchasing and stock control of a selection of our chilled, ambient, frozen and non-food lines within a multidrop environment. The successful candidate will learn about the importance of stock control in an extremely fluid business, supply chain management, seasonal peaks and troughs and the importance of building strong working relationships with our suppliers and internal customers.

Based at our head office in Ilfracombe, we are looking for someone to join our well established and friendly team and although the position is office based, there will be opportunities to visit our other depots in Barnstaple, Oxford and the Midlands and also to meet suppliers and colleagues at supplier presentations, National Sales Meetings and trade events and our own exhibitions

The person we’re looking for will have a pro-active and ‘can do’ attitude along with a hunger to learn and achieve. They’ll have an eye for detail, a good understanding of Microsoft systems, and be willing to learn how to juggle many plates. In return we will offer a starting salary of £16k to be reviewed at 6 monthly intervals to a maximum of £17,500 on completion of training, inclusion in the company pension scheme, staff discounts on all purchases, death in service benefit, an office with a sea view and the opportunity to join one of the most well established yet progressive businesses in the area.

3) Night Shift Operatives (Warehouse), Ilfracombe

Role: Full time, based in Mullacott, Devon.

We’re seeking a professional and diligent Warehouse Operative to cover the night shifts at our Ilfracombe depot. The accuracy of the night shift operations is critical to the smooth running of our wider business functioning and in maintaining our high levels of customer satisfaction. You will be part of a team that ensures all vehicles are loaded with the correct stock and packed in a logical fashion for the booked delivery route. You’ll report any out of stock incidents and feedback on any errors to the Warehouse Supervisor, who will then identify improvements and take corrective action, as required.

Taking pride in your work, you’ll enjoy working as part of a team, adhering to all health & safety policies, maintaining a clean and orderly depot and reporting any unsafe acts or hazards to the Warehouse Supervisor for the good of all employees.

Calm under pressure, your strong organisation and time management abilities allow you to be flexible and adaptable to change. 4) IT Systems Designer/Architect & Administrator, Barnstaple

Role: Full time, permanent - based in Barnstaple, Devon.

The Role:

We’re seeking a dynamic and meticulous IT Administrator to provide a professional and courteous day-to-day and out of hours support and maintenance service across all Company IT systems to minimise downtime for all users. This will include Windows systems, servers, networking, VMware and virtualisation technology. Performing daily monitoring activity across all systems, you’ll verify the integrity of all hardware, server resources, key processes and system security, taking corrective action, as required. With responsibility for implementing and issuing new hardware, software and firmware upgrades, you’ll keep abreast of relevant industry developments to make proactive suggestions for best practice upgrades, whilst supporting users with any necessary installation work, troubleshooting and training to maximise adoption rates. In addition, you’ll work closely with the wider IT team to deliver larger projects, including assisting with scoping specifications, evaluating appropriate technologies and facilitating technical rollout. Please note, this role will require occasional travel to support users at our three Depot sites in Ilfracombe, Witney and the West Midlands.

The Person:

With significant experience in similar administrative/support roles, with a focus on IT systems and infrastructure, you’ll be well versed in the following technical requirements: Windows Server 08/12, Windows 7+, Active Directory, TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP and MS Office software applications. You will have experience providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support to users and a proven ability to administer computer hardware, software and networks. Ideally, you’ll have a good knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2010/13, VMware and virtualisation technology, Network Switching/Routing, and appropriate IT qualifications. 

From a personal perspective, you’re a real team player: always happy to help your team, work collaboratively and support users with technical queries. With excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, you have the ability to communicate with people of all levels and backgrounds, and know when to act with discretion. Known for being dependable, you have an analytical mind, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly. As a natural problem solver, you’re not fazed by working in a busy environment with changeable workload and are confident assessing new situations and thinking on your feet. 5) HGV Class 2 Multi Driver, Ilfracombe

Role: Full time, based in Mullacott, Devon.

We’re seeking a committed HGV Class 2 Multi Drop Driver, responsible for delivering our multi-temperature food products to respective customers, whilst maintaining the best possible standards of service and efficiency. Reporting to the Transport Manager, you’ll contribute to the Company’s delivery of high quality customer care and assist in the maintenance and growth of the business through developing strong customer relationships. Main responsibilities will include safety and serviceability inspection of appointed vehicle on a daily basis, the delivery of all routed stock provided, as well as completing all necessary documentation and reporting any events that may arise.

The Person:

With experience in a similar role, you demonstrate a flexible approach to duties and strong attention to detail as well as competent numeracy and literacy skills. Fully conversant with driving hours and Tachograph laws, previous experience in a HGV driving role with the relevant driving licence for this vehicle is also essential. Must hold a complete and current driver CPC and digital Tacho card.

6) Warehouse Cold Store Operative, Oxfordshire

Role: Full time, based in Witney, Oxfordshire.

We’re seeking a professional and diligent Warehouse Cold Store Operatives to cover night and day shifts at our Witney depot, working within our frozen and chilled warehouse divisions. Accuracy is critical to the smooth running of our operations and in maintaining our high levels of customer satisfaction. You will be part of a team that ensures all vehicles are loaded with the correct frozen or chilled stock and are packed correctly for the booked delivery route. You’ll report any out of stock incidents and feedback on any errors to the relevant Supervisor, who will then identify improvements and take corrective action, as required.
