Cheesy Veggie Pasta Bake (Traybake Style)

A simple, budget-friendly dish that’s easy to scale up for large groups. Perfect for school or university dining halls.

Ingredients (serves ~20 portions)

  • 2kg dried pasta (penne or fusilli)
  • 3L tomato pasta sauce
  • 1.5kg mixed frozen vegetables (peas, sweetcorn, carrots, green beans)
  • 1.5kg grated cheddar cheese

Method

  1. Cook pasta in boiling water until al dente. Drain well.
  2. Mix pasta with tomato sauce and frozen vegetables.
  3. Transfer into gastronorm trays.
  4. Top with grated cheese.
  5. Bake at 180°C for 25–30 minutes until golden and bubbling.

Serving Suggestion - Serve with side salad or garlic bread.
