We’re seeking a proactive and professional Marketing Assistant to join our marketing team. As a strong team player, you will help to organise and coordinate the company’s marketing activities. Providing support to the Marketing Manager, you will assist in delivering the company’s marketing strategy and promotional activity through a range of channels, including advertising, digital marketing, magazine and promotional literature production. With excellent attention to detail, you will play a key role in planning and producing the company’s monthly magazine and annual product guide, working closely with designers and suppliers to source adverts, product information and images. You will also work within the company’s brand guidelines to support the Marketing Manager in updating the company website using content management systems e.g. WordPress, ensuring that content remains current, on brand and engaging.
With excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will be confident in managing social media pages, working to maintain and improve our online presence through our social media channels. In addition, you will produce marketing materials for exhibitions and internal events, ensuring work is completed to a high standard, on time and within budget. With the ability to write engaging content, you will support the Marketing Manager in the distribution of press releases and internal newsletters, seeking new opportunities where possible to maximise exposure. You will also be responsible for the distribution of email campaigns through Mailchimp (or similar systems) to engage with existing and potential customers.
With previous experience in a marketing role, you have a good understanding of different marketing channels. Used to working in a fast-paced environment, you possess strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and multi-task, along with managing budgets and deadlines. With a strong creative eye and excellent attention to detail, you’re able to produce and proofread engaging content to suit multiple marketing channels. You will have good IT skills and have experience using Microsoft Office, Mailchimp, content management systems and design software, with the ability to adapt and learn new systems quickly. You will also have experience of managing social media pages and using scheduling platforms to post innovative content in order to grow and develop our online presence and following.
You’re a positive and self-motivated individual who takes pride in their work and is always happy to lend a hand; however, with strong communication and interpersonal skills, you’re also happy working on your own initiative. While experience working in the food industry and knowledge of digital marketing would be desirable, a clean UK driving licence is essential in order to attend occasional meetings off site. A relevant marketing qualification or degree-level qualification would also be advantageous.
